speaking of badges...I am a VIG here...and thanks to yours truly,  they have decided to allow previous VIGs to renew early(limiting amount of VIGs each year and making them super hard to get)

This will be my 3rd year and it is the 3rd year of the convention...so I got that going for me

this was the first time I went to a TD seminar....all i can say is wow. lots of info, that i did not know.
Way to go Jeff, keep up all the hard work...and to the awesome volunteers too...they do a great job :)

synopsis :

Generations ago the orcs of the Fifth Hand swept over the Duchy of Balbridge, razed the keep, and put the Duke and Duchess to the sword. Eventually the Duke's champion defeated the orcs and their necromancer king and peace settled over the land... until two years ago, when the Duke's tomb was despoiled. Now you are in a race against time. Can you return the Pendant of Silver Tears to the burial vault before the Duke's ghost claims another victim? An intro adventure for D&D 5E.

this was a 5e D&D game. we were all second level characters..i wont go into to much about the game(because I wont give spoilers on this)..as always a great Dungeon Bastard

I played this game because my friend Paul told me to.
It was fun
I played Velvet FOX (Trixie)
we had a race across antartica. Had a stop were everyone was dead because a giant penguin killed them.
there was a final battle ...where I snuck away and gave flat tires to two other racers and drove off so i could win the race....So I won...I rock
And Speed racer was our DM

You are a BADASS HERO, sent forth to defeat Ironfang, a FRICKIN' INFERNAL DRAGON with a CRAPLOAD of DEMONIC MINIONS amassed together as the most VICIOUS, KICKASS ARMY of EVIL DOERS this SUNSHINE-AND-LOLLIPOPS FANTASY WORLD has ever seen! Your job: DESTROY HIM! A 10-player cooperative battle game direct from the DUNGEON BASTARD HIMSELF: light on rules, heavy on rolling a crap-ton of d6s. Will you defeat the IRON DRAGON or will you be consumed by the DOOM TOWER?


I must say...this was the best game all day. prety much hack and slash. only problem was if you rolled a 1, you lost that die(dice)
only way you could get them back was to play JENGA...it was easy at first...then got harder. Each character had different amount of dice with different abilities (some stronger ..so easy to hit baddies)..or hard for baddies to hit....

 and it wouldnt be a BASTARD game without some extra stuff thrown in...like death by JENGA

Day of The Chad

i like day of The Chad, better.
so Wednesday before thanksgiving has been decided to be day of The Chad.  So it will easily be remembered.
A group of us Chads got together (it is 2015 so it was a quick Facebook post) and came up with a day.
This was the day it was going to be. That way the day changes every year.(other than being the day before thanksgiving

since I came up with Day of The Chad..I have decided (i took a vote and it was 1 to nothing) that I should be president of The Chad chapter
now some of you are asking why is there a chad day

well let me tell you why
#1 we decided..so it shall be

B. we wanted to be first..so the Taras of the world can copy us..we win

#5 we have a freaking country named after us...it may be 3rd world, but it counts..so suck it trebek

K.why the hell not. there is a day for everything else. we have people who are not pirates and walking around thinking they are on national pirate day..posers


so while the rest of you are getting ready for family crap. The Chads of the world will be taking a moment (at minimum ) or the whole freaking day and being Happy we are one of the Chads.
Day of the Chad 2016 will have Tshirts and stuff. We have to get the word out.

best things in life are

so I was sick as hell all last week and last weekend. Thanks Nerd-ebola
well i had to do manly outdoor things when I was sick as hell.
we had a snow storm coming in so stuff had to get done. I chopped wood for the fire place.

then it slowly started adding up

then finally all nice and neatly stacked

i ended up with 2 (completely split) 5 foot high, 1 foot deep and 6 foot long stacks of fire wood. i am pretty bad ass

so next
Put away all fall items and put together my snow blower and make sure it would run

then had to shovel(snow blow) the 0.25 mile drive way

so last weekend was a busy weekend
so as for my title..the best things in life are not free...they are the ones you have to work your behind off for

this weekend i went away for a mini work trip..i may post about that later

gamehole con day 2 part 2

so after the game, we ate at the hotel bar then prepared for the WORLDS worst dungeon crawl with you guessed it

hosting/dming the event
there were 4 seats sold at $50 each(none of us got those)
2 seats would have a roll off for $20 donation ...note the money for this event went to the  Madisonharvest food bank(which they raised over $1000 for)
Paul, Cory, Brando and I all donated. and got into the roll off(i big foam 20 sided die)
 of course I roll a 9, Paul rolls a 9, Brando rolls a 19, Cory rolls a 20..there were a bunch of other rollers too.
Cory was automatically in, Brando tied with the Gamehole con founder...so they had to roll again
brando rolled a 9..the other a 3

so brando won.

i was too busy laughing to pay attention to what happened in the first half..they all survived

the second half I was annoyed by a late arrival(to the audience )..he thought he was the funniest person ever...I did not laugh once..although, i almost punched him in the face once

long story short(too late)
the dungeon ended on a dream with the Dungeon Bastard kissing Brando on the cheek (he was roll playing as a princess) and Brando's character awoke in jail..the whole adventure never happened

gamehole con day 2 part 1

So saturday started off with Breakfast at Original pancake house in Madison(one of my favorites)

we loaded up on omelets and hash browns

we needed the energy.

Paul went off to play board games and Sesame street vs Cthulhu (he said it was awesome)

while Cory, Brando and I sat around and discussed a game Brando was running and helped him with some Dm ideas

Then it was time for our 6 hour marathon game with Luke Gygax

The Blighted Lands: Tower of Akbaba

a module Luke wrote and will be kick starting soon
we started off picking our characters I was a thief, Brando was fighter thief, Steve was some kind of archer, and Cory was a Cleric. the other guys were fighters etc
i was going to play a cleric /thief and I asked if i could change a spell to acid arrow(being me and being funny)
most of you wont get that joke..Luke Gygax if known also as Melf (Melf's acid arrow) by me not calling it that was a nice Ice breaker...plus Luke is a Bears fan and I was wearing my Packer Jersey
i ended up going with the regular thief

our group was given a map and a save the princess mission.
so we followed the map into the sewers
we had some mini battles along the way. spiders, dire rats, acid mold and some other things.
my character(being out front) took some damage along the way
we all made it to the tower and started our way up
first step was a trap..which we stepped over. brando was first and didnt see the trap on step7
to which he took fire damage and then rolled down the steps and landed on step one...and he took falling rock damage..which killed him
so we looted the body and finished the tower.

that was end of part one of the adventure
we didnt take many pics(none)
rapid sum of part 2

we had 6 rooms to go into to get us items to help with final battle
few arrows of dragon slaying. potions fire resistance etc
then we went up steps to free the princess...who was guarded by a dragon
so we potion up..i stupidly took 2 potions which on the roll chart canceled each other out

then spread out..fighters died with fire breath..
the 2 thieves tried to pick lock off cuffs to free the princess, could do it. magical locks...so they decided to cut her hands off...which got her away. the other thief took off and died.
so it was my halfling thief, leading the princess and dragon left. i took damage and made it to the stairs and down with 2 points left

the guy who hired us , showed up and said we failed..and killed me
